Outing at Davis Farm

Today Grammy and Grampy took Evan and I to Davis Farm in Sterling, MA. There were tons of farm animals, and many little baby animals, many of which were born in the last 2 weeks. There was even one little lamb that was born yesterday! We got to feed and pet the animals, and Ev even gave a little baby calf a good brushing before we left. The day included an egg gathering in the chicken coop for the children, a hayride, a romp in the big sand area and of course we ended our visit with an ice cream cone. (This seems to be the common theme in my posts - every outing seems to end with an ice cream cone!!! Good thing I am not entering any bikini contests this summer!!)It was a very fun day for us all. Thank you Grammy and Grampy!
As we were looking at our pictures tonight before bed, Evan pointed out that the one with the little white lamb (above) was his favorite. Here are a few more from this fun day!

Mother's Day in the City!

Jeff and Evan treated Nana and I to a lovely Mother's Day in Boston. What we had thought would be a cool, windy and cloudy day turned out to be warm, sunny and just a light breeze - we found it to be warmer and less windy in Boston than it was at home, which is usually not the case, especially since we were on the waterfront! We had a wonderful time at the Boston Children's Museum - I am not sure who had more fun, Evan or Jeff! Evan was amazed by all the neat things they had at the museum and Jeff had the look of a 5 year old on his face the whole time! It was right up his alley! I think Evan liked the climbing sculpture on the first floor the best - it was one of the first things we did, and I thought at one point that we might actually never leave that exhibit the whole day! After about 2 1/2 hours exploring the museum, we had lunch outside on the waterfront. Ev had a great time chasing the pigeons around (see video below). We then took Ev on his first underground "T" ride -from South Station to Park Street and back (only two stops, but enough for Ev to experience the thrill of riding the underground subway!) An ice cream on the way home ended a fun-filled day for us all!

Ev's Prize Winning Photo

Ok, ok, you asked for it! This picture has received such positive feedback that it is deserving of its very own post!! Evan proudly took this picture of his Auntie Carolyn. Ca, you might want to consider using this as your new Facebook profile?? :)

Birthday Celebrations for the Young & Old!

We kicked off the month of May this past weekend with a couple of birthday celebrations - for the young and old! Alex and Rachel turned 3 and we had such fun helping them celebrate on Sunday night. Jon made another delicious cake creation - Thomas the Tank Engine this year - yummy! Evan and the twins just can't get enough of Thomas and all of his train friends - as you can see by the pictures, they enjoyed building tracks and playing trains all evening.
The old lady of the bunch also had a wonderful birthday on Monday, celebrating with my loved ones - I had with lunch and cake with Grampy and Ev and a nice dinner with Jeff, Nana and Evan. Jeff and Ev also baked me a beautiful, yummy cake which I am still enjoying. (I think that makes 3 cakes that I ate in a span of 24 hours of birthday celebrations - no wonder my belly looks so big in all of these pictures!!) ;-)
