A Day Out with Thomas

Saturday we took Evan to Edaville Railroad for "A Day out with Thomas" - Evan was in his glory! Highlights included the much anticipated ride on Thomas the Tank Engine, who was also pulling Salty along with several other coaches(it wasn't really Salty, but Evan is convinced it was, so we are going along with it!) and rides on a miniature train, the merry-go-round, and a ride similar to the tea cups at Disney World (lots of spinning around, which Mommy didn't like!!). Evan also got a Harold the Helicopter tatoo, played with the train tables they had set up, and ate lots of yummy carnival food! It was a beautiful day - sunny and hot - summer did actually arrive for one day amidst all this rain! We also met the Carpenters there, so Evan was happy to see his great friends Alex and Rachel. Jeff and I were actually quite impressed - for the amount of money we paid to get in for the day, there was lots to do, and everything was included, except food. Unlike many of the other zoos/children-type attractions we have gone to with Ev, the rides, tattoos etc...were all included in the admission price, which wasn't any higher than most zoos, museums we have been to. It was definitely a great place to take someone like Ev, who LOVES trains! He could have just spent the whole day on the train rides and he would have been happy! Here are a few pics/videos of this fun day! I think we'll be doing it again next year!

Preschool Graduation

Evan had his preschool graduation last night - it was so cute! There were several kids who actually graduated out of preschool and into kindergarten, but many of the others, like Ev, will be going back to preschool for at least another one, if not two, years. They still wanted all the kids to participate, so he got to wear a cap and gown and received a "diploma" for advancing to the next level of preschool. He did actually graduate to some degree - from two mornings per week to three, starting the end of August. YAY Evan! I was so proud of him and of course was balling my eyes out - the Rayla curse! They played the "Pomp & Circumstance" song and everything. I am not sure how I will hold it together for all of these kinds of things in the future for both of my children - I was literally sobbing! Of course the pregnancy hormones didn't help!! Evan has grown so much this year at school - he has learned so many new things, and made so many new friends. We really are very proud of him. I have been doing a lot of reflecting lately on Evan's birth, as I prepare to give birth to my daughter. It seems amazing to me that Evan is not that little baby anymore and that he has actually completed his first year of preschool. It is so cliche, but the time really does fly by. It makes us cherish every moment we have. Here are a few pictures of our little graduate.

31 Weeks and Counting!!

As unflattering as this picture is of me, I am finally posting the
"profile shot" that has been requested by both my mother-in-law and my sister, both of whom live a plane ride away and don't get to see me and my big belly on a regular basis!! This is for you Cathy and Meg!!
