Storyland!!
Our trip to Storyland got off to a rocky start - two minutes after we entered the park on the first day, Evan proceeded to turn green and we were running to the bathroom for him to be sick. He spent the next hour in the stroller while we pushed him around - Sophia and I rode the pumpkin coach to visit with Cinderella and that was the extent of our visit! Luckily the last three hours of admission are free (if you buy another day's return pass). Fortunately, the next day Evan woke up feeling 100% and off we went again to the park! We had a blast - the weather was perfect - cloudy with some breaks of sun and high 70's...perfect weather for walking around all day. We hit just about every attraction at least once if not 4 or 5 times (Evan loves the Bamboo Chutes...similar to Splash Mountain at the Magic Kingdom but on a miniature scale....so we did that ride at least a few times each with him!) By the time we got to our car just before dinner time, the first raindrop was starting to fall....it really couldn't have been a better day and the kids did great. Sophia even had an hour's nap in her stroller which was great so she wasn't a complete mess by bed time. Jeff and I were just as impressed this visit as our last visit two summers ago - it is such a great spot for young kids and is very well-kept, clean, reasonably priced with a friendly staff and no long lines...the longest we waited for any ride was 20 minutes - and that was for the pumpkin coach to Cinderella's castle...which ironically was one of our least favorite rides.(We are probably Disney snobs and nothing compares to Cinderella's Castle at Magic Kingdom!) As you can see from the pictures, Evan and Sophia were replaced early-on in the day with Tiger and Princess - they had so much fun!! And I had to add the last picture in, as it depicts my expression at 5:50AM which is when Evan woke us up to go - taking pictures no less....you can see how I felt about being woken up on vacation at that hour!!!
A Little Early Birthday Party for Miss Sophia
Courtesy of Nana, we had a little early birthday celebration for Sophia with her cousins before they headed back to England. Sophia and Nana picked out the cake months ago while shopping one day at Big Y....Sophia has been talking about this cake ever since! It WAS pretty amazing and even came with a castle with 4 princesses - the castle turned into a carry case for the miniature princesses...pretty cool! As you can see by the pictures, a couple of princesses were in attendance, including Cinderella and Snow White (I think they are growing out of their dresses though since they are showing bare bellies in most of the pictures...either that or they ate too much cake that evening LOL!!!) Shannon, who is also a regular at the Pelletier dinner table, joined us for the festivities and also came dressed in her Irish step-dancing attire. A fun time was had by all! Thanks Nana!
Mini Cape Cod Vacation
We headed to Falmouth, Cape Cod for a few days with the cousins and had a great time! Here are a few pictures from a fun day at Old Silver Beach; dinner at the Flying Bridge; an evening stroll down by Falmouth Harbor; lunch at the Clam Shack watching the Island Queen come in from Martha's Vineyard; dusk at Surf Drive Beach and more fun at Surf Drive Beach building magnificent sand castles!....some of mine and Meg's favorite memories as children that we are now experiencing with our own kids!
