Dare I Say Summer is Here??

You never know with New England - especially since we had rainy and raw weather most of the week - but perhaps Summer is actually here?? It must be, because last night we heard the faint, but much anticipated sound of the ice cream truck a few streets away. The kids literally ran upstairs for their piggy banks and bolted out the front door to wait in the driveway. Heaven help us if the truck ever decides not to turn down our street - we will be following it across town in our car, I think! It is funny how certain sounds, smells, sights just scream out SUMMER! This is one of them for me. :)

Last Baseball Game

Evan and Daddy wrapped up the baseball season yesterday with their final game. What a great season it was this year! We had wonderful kids on the team this year - many were returning players from last year - and they all just really connected. It was a great group of players and parents - I thoroughly enjoyed every single game, unlike previous years, when the games tended to drag on! The kids improved SO much this year throughout the season and the games were truly exciting to watch! I can only imagine it will get that much more fun each year from here. Jeff did an amazing job with the kids, and I say that not as his wife but as a parent. He is just so good with them - patient, fun, caring...we are very lucky to have him as coach, and he received so many nice compliments from the parents. I am proud :) He surprised his team yesterday not only with the medals that the league gives out, but with personalized trophies that he had made for each of his players. Each trophy had the child's name on it and it said "Good Sportsmanship Award". The kids were SO excited - Evan actually slept with his last night I think! Followed by ice cream and popsicles, it was a great ending to an exciting and fun season! I am already looking forward to next year! Here are some pictures of Evan and Dad, Evan getting his medal and Evan with his good friend Anna.

Merry Christmas in June!

The kids have waited so patiently to enjoy the gift they opened from us on Christmas morning. Finally summer arrived (at least temporarily) in New England with sunshine and 90 degree temps all weekend. In between baseball games and other activities, we managed to enjoy our new pool immensely! Merry Christmas kids! Evan said it was definitely worth the wait!!
