Evan "at bat" with the Bravehearts
I clearly have issues with taking video and following moving objects at the same time!!! Oh well, it is still a fun memory for Ev to watch!!!
Baseball, Birthday Party, Cookout and Swim Meet!
The kids had a jam-packed but fun filled weekend this past weekend. The fun started Friday with Evan's baseball camp - he attended the Bravehearts baseball camp last week, all week and loved it! Friday morning, the last day of camp, they held a skills competition and game. Evan won the skills competition for fastest base runner! The camp kids had a fun game afterwards (I took a video I can post). Later that day, Sophia had her "friend party" for her birthday. A bunch of her little pre-school girlfriends and their siblings came to the house to help her celebrate. We had a bouncy house and water slide and the kids swam in the pool too. They had lots of fun! Friday evening we headed back to Holy Cross to the Bravehearts game, where Evan got to take the field with the team for the national anthem. It was awesome! (didn't get a picture of it though - took video instead but it came out blurry). What an experience for him! Both kids loved the game and had lots of fun with their friends - it seemed to be "Holden Night" because Evan met 3 or 4 of his friends and one of Sophia's best friends was there too! They had a great fireworks display afterwards which we all enjoyed. Saturday we had a cookout with Carolyn and Ingrid and their families. Another fun day/evening! Always so good to get together with them! Then Sunday morning, Evan had a swim meet in which he placed 1st in the breaststroke and freestyle and a close 2nd place in backstroke! He took in 13 points for his team - It was his best meet yet. He is getting ready for Championships this coming weekend. Way to go Ev! So proud of these two...Here are some pictures of the festivities....

Family Getaway!
This was mine and Jeff's vacation week and although we mostly had a "staycation" (aside from Dad and Ev's hiking and camping trip to New Hampshire), we managed to sneak away for an overnight to Rhode Island - the 4 of us. Now that we have Lilly it is harder to just go off for a vacation, but our neighbors and Nana graciously agreed to take care of her for one night so we could have some family beach time. We found a wonderful spot in Rhode Island that we all really loved - the perfect blend of nature, hiking trails, ocean and beach! We spent most of our time at the beach and walking through a bird sanctuary and nature trails in Middletown, RI - which is on the outskirts of Newport. We headed to Point Judith for dinner, ice cream and fireworks on the beach - oh and one of the most beautiful sunsets we have seen! We hope to spend more time exploring the area next year!
